CHAPTER 23

Trading Plan, Routine and Review

The difference between a professional and a hobbyist is not talent: the professional runs the same process every day. This chapter turns that process into a written document.

23.1Why A Written Plan Matters

Rules kept in your head change under pressure; written rules are embarrassing to break. A plan is not only discipline - it decides in advance what you will do, so emotion has no seat at the decision table.

23.6A Complete Example Plan

Objective: +4R a month with a maximum 5 percent drawdown. Symbols: EURUSD and NAS100. Sessions: 13:00-16:00 and 18:30-21:00 Dhaka. Models: Silver Bullet and London Judas - nothing else.
Risk: 0.5 percent per trade, two trades a day, stop at -2R daily or -5R weekly. Management: 50 percent at TP1, break-even, trail the rest behind 5m swings. No-trade: five minutes around news, 02:00-05:00, after three trades, or when mentally fatigued.

23.7Kill Switches

  • Two losses in a row ends the day. No exceptions.
  • After breaking a rule, no trading for 24 hours.
  • Under six hours of sleep means no trading.
  • Never trade from a phone; it causes slippage and wrong lots.
